Care Package

We should put together a fundraiser for the people over in Sudan. Alexi Idreos’ Mom knows someone over in Sudan who would love to receive care packages to distribute to people in need in Sudan. Some of the ideas are:

Care Package Items and point Values:

-T-shirt = 5pts
-Undershirt = 3pts
-Socks = 1pt a pair
-Toiletries = 2pts per item
-Sweats = 15pts
-Sheets = 20pts
-Money = 1pt per 1$ double pints after 10$

It would be great to put pictures of the items on our blog. We were thinking that the person with the most points would get a gift card. I was thinking that the deadline for the collections would be the week after break. (Maybe that Thursday or Friday?) Let me and Alexi know what you think about this and if you have any suggestions please let us know.

The idea of sending clothes to the people of Sudan is a wonderful idea. It won't kill you to give away one out of ten of your own shirts to people who need it more. You probably only where that shirt once every couple weeks, where children of in sudan wear the same shirt for years. Have a heart and give a little.

I think that idea is brilliant. It would be great if we could get other kids from the school to help us pay for the shipping and handling. We should go canning around the school during class and get kids to donate like 50 cents to go to the coast.

This idea is fantastic! I, coincidentally, just went through about five years worth of random unused stuff in my room, and I also have many bags of clothes that I need to get rid of before my friends attack them and leave nothing for others. I also have other things I need to give away such as books and toys if it’s of any interest.

the idea of sending out a care package is great, somebody else could use that shirt or pants in your closet that dont fit or you never wear, even a little bit of money can go a long way. Great Idea.

Yeah, this is a bomb idea. I know that my family and I have a ton of clothes that we don't wear anymore. I'm pretty sure that there are other people in school that might like to donate some of their clothes to help children. Maybe we can make this idea school wide?

I don’t think that the deadline for the items should be this week. We really haven’t had anytime to bring items in. it would be more successful if we do it maybe next week or the week after.

Together our class could make a big difference with giving in clothes that we don’t wear anymore. We could also put envelopes in each classroom in the school to collect money for the people of Sudan. Then, the classroom that made the largest amount of money would receive a class prize. This would gather a lot of money with the whole school involved.

This is a wonderful thing that the class is partcipating in. We are really doing something that can change peoples lives in so many ways. We are so caught up with our own lives and materialistic that it wouldnt hurt to give some to the people in Africa. I hope we raise a lot!
